Man I can't beleive that Hubble is going soon. I know it's way over its expected lifespan, but still. Ah well, maybe when NASA stops fucking around, we can have some proper space exploration.

Actually there is a newer telescope in the works to replace Hubble. However, it won't get up until after Hubble is given the axe. As for NASA, some of the funding instead went to build pinewood boxes for our boys to come home in. [img]frown.gif[/img]

Well, at least pinewood is a renewable resource. Not like those horrible vinyl body bags we're using on those civilian...sorry, I mean ENEMY, mass casualties.

I think that the ESA is putting up a low earth orbit telescope soon, and also there's a plan for some kind of far-out zeppelin carried upper atmosphere doohickey. Looks very promising.

At least us science geeks will continue to get pretty pictures to use as our desktop backgrounds.
